Katie Tobin is a strategic communications specialist who brings over 12 years’ experience working for private, public and non-profit sector clients. Since 2005, Tobin has worked for McDonald Public Relations, Inc. on the FutureGen Texas project, the State of Texas’ entity charged with developing Texas’ bid for the world’s first coal-fueled, carbon-capture-capable FutureGen power plant.
In addition to her communications expertise, Tobin offers an extensive background in government, policy and issue management. She has worked for a wide variety of clients, including The University of Texas at Austin’s Bureau of Economic Geology, the Clean Coal Technology Foundation of Texas, D.M. O’Connor Interests and Frost Bank.
Previously, Tobin held positions in Washington, D.C. on the legislative staff of a Texas Congressman in his Capitol Hill office, at a public affairs consulting firm and in the Communications Division of the American Institutes for Research.
Tobin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina and is a native of Houston, Texas.
