Rickey Dailey joined the MPRI team in March of 2001 after spending nearly 15 years as the Austin Bureau Chief for the Brownsville Herald, The Monitor of McAllen and The Valley Morning Star of Harlingen, which are Freedom Communications daily newspapers in south Texas.
Dailey received a BA in Journalism from Texas A&I University in Kingsville and joined the Valley Morning Star shortly after graduation. He served as Assistant Managing Editor from 1981 to 1984 and Managing Editor from 1984 to 1987, before he was named to head the Austin Bureau in 1987. Rickey has an extensive knowledge of the legislature and has two decades of writing experience.
Rickey is married and the father of two children.
